Families visiting Adelaide Airport will start to notice some exciting updates as we move into the next phase of our terminal expansion. Construction hoardings have been installed along the main concourse, and while the current children’s play area is now closed, we’re making way for a brand-new, improved space designed with little travellers in mind!
In the meantime, here are a few helpful tips to make your visit with kids as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Parents’ Rooms are located on Level 0 and Level 2 of the terminal and are designed to support families travelling with young children. Each room includes:
- Comfortable feeding areas
- Toddler-sized toilet pans
- Child-friendly basins
- Microwave and basin facilities for food preparation
These spaces are thoughtfully equipped to provide convenience, privacy, and comfort for parents and carers.

Looking for a place where kids can play before take-off?
Adelaide Airport's Adventure Tower has been designed to inspire imagination, encourage active play and provide a welcome break from screens. It's a must-visit stop for families travelling through the terminal.
Whether you're picking up a last-minute gift or keeping the kids entertained before takeoff, Adelaide Airport offers a range of fun and practical shopping options for children. From toys and books to travel essentials and sweet treats, there’s something to delight every young traveller—and make your journey a little smoother too.

Airport Pharmacy at Adelaide Airport knows what travelling families need—whether it’s sunscreen for a sunny getaway, children’s travel essentials, or trusted health products. With a wide selection of over-the-counter and prescription medicines, plus helpful travel items, it’s a convenient stop for parents preparing for a smooth and stress-free journey.

Every airline has its own check-in requirements, so it’s a good idea to check directly with your airline before arriving at the airport. Some airlines offer strollers for use in the terminal, and many provide extra baggage allowance for children’s items like prams, car seats, and travel accessories—just be sure to allow a little extra time if you're checking in with these.
If you're travelling internationally, don’t forget to confirm what identification is needed for your child.

If your child has special needs, Adelaide Airport has a number of initiatives and services available to make your journey through the airport as smooth as possible. Please have a look at our Accessibility Information for more details.
- Prams and strollers will be screened and allowed entry past the security screening point.
- Infants and toddlers should be removed from the pram/ stroller for the search.
- Where possible, check with your airline regarding their own rules for carrying prams/ strollers on board the aircraft.
I’m travelling with children; do the same security rules apply?
Check with your airline for specific allowances when travelling with children. Prams and strollers require x-ray at the security screening point.
Can I take child seats with me?
We recommend you check with your airline. You can take seats through security, although most airlines request that child seats are checked into the hold.
Can I take my baby’s milk through security?
